COLLECTION & DELIVERY
You will be able to select your collection or delivery date and time at the checkout. Please double check this information before payment is made. At the checkout you will be allocated a 30 minute time slot. If you are running late, let Arianne’s Cake House™ know as soon as possible. Should you miss your collection window, you may be unable to collect your cake until an alternative collection time or date is arranged. Arianne’s Cake House™ accepts no responsibility should your event go ahead without the cake due to you missing your collection slot. The collector of the cake will have the opportunity to inspect the cake before leaving the premises. Leaving with the baked goods constitutes confirmation that you have received your order in good condition and as specified.
All Arianne’s Cake House™ cakes are covered with Swiss Meringue buttercream which sets solid when cold. Go DIRECTLY to your cake’s final destination. Your decorations are made with butter! Lateness may mean that your cake needs to be removed from refrigeration in order to make space for other orders. The warmer the cake is, the softer the buttercream is and the more likely it is that the cake will be damaged in transit. Arianne’s Cake House™ accepts no responsibility for cakes damaged when cakes have been collected later than the agreed time slot.
Consistently late pickups may affect the ability for you to place any future orders.
If you are travelling long distances with your cake please make that clear in your order notes as Arianne’s Cake House™ will aim to refrigerate your cake for an extended period of time.
CAKE CARE
Cakes are delicate items! Hold the box flat from the bottom, do not hold from the sides. Ensure the boot or footwell is clear before collection as the cake should not be placed on laps nor should it go on an empty seat.
Store the cake boxed in the fridge until ready to set up. Cake should be eaten at room temperature – we advise removing the cake from the fridge at least 90 minutes before cutting depending on the temperature of your fridge.
Sculptural elements, figurines, flowers and images may contain wire supports, toothpicks, wooden skewers or other non-edible items. Please ask about placement of these items before serving to small children.
Please note that all 2 tier and double barrel cakes contain dowels for stability. Occasionally 1 tier cake will also have dowels present. Please simply remove on sight when cutting.
HAND DELIVERY
Your order can be delivered for an additional fee. Delivery is recommended for celebration cakes, particularly 2 tiered cakes and double barrel cakes. Delivery charges are calculated on a mileage and time basis and is calculated at checkout. Delivery for standard celebration cakes is available across London and surrounding areas.
It is the Customer’s responsibility to ensure that Arianne’s Cake House™ has been given the correct delivery information, and that someone is available to receive your order. The cake will need to be inspected on delivery. Any issues with the cake will need to be made before Arianne’s Cake House™ employees leave the delivery address. No issues being raised at the time of delivery constitutes confirmation that you have received your order in good condition and as specified.
If the recipient is not in, the order will be returned to Arianne’s Cake House™ who will contact you to arrange an alternative delivery time for which an additional charge will be payable by the customer. Arianne’s Cake House™ accepts no responsibility for any loss or consequential loss incurred by the Customer as a result, e.g. a wedding without a wedding cake.
Alternatively, if permission is given to leave the cake/cupcakes without inspection, the condition of the cake will be deemed as being received in a good condition and as specified.
Late requests for delivery (after completing your booking based on collection) will be accommodated where possible, but cannot be guaranteed, as earlier delivery commitments must take priority.
POSTAL DELIVERY

In the event of loss by Royal Mail, Arianne’s Cake House™ will not accept responsibility for the lost item. If a trackable service was offered we will put in a claim with Royal Mail on your behalf for them to reimburse you. Please note that this is not always guaranteed.
AFTER DELIVERY
Arianne’s Cake House™ specialises in all buttercream cakes (Swiss Meringue) which are vulnerable to melting higher temperatures. In hot or humid weather there is the increased likelihood of melting or damage to edible goods. It is the customers’ responsibility to ensure the cakes are stored at an appropriate temperature following collection or delivery. It is recommended that cakes are kept in the fridge for as long as possible before the event. Please note that Swiss Meringue Buttercream sets hard and returns to its soft silky state once it has reached room temperature.
PORTION GUIDE
Our portion guide video is intended as a guide only. This will vary dependent upon how the cake is cut at the venue.

DAMAGE
Please remember that cakes and cake decorations are very delicate items, and Arianne’s Cake House™ cannot accept responsibility for damage that occurs after it has left our possession.
Cupcakes are provided in cupcake boxes and can be handheld. Celebration cakes, tiered cakes and double barrel cakes (extra tall cakes) should be transported in the boot or foot-well of a car and should not be held on laps or on the seat as this is almost guaranteed to damage the cake.
If you choose to collect the cake, Arianne’s Cake House™ will not be held liable for any damage to the cake once it has left our premises. Tiered cakes are most at risk during transport.
Arianne’s Cake House™ cannot be held liable for any damage to the cake that occurs at the venue after we have left the premises. If any damage is caused after it has left the possession of Arianne’s Cake House™ you can notify Arianne’s Cake House™ and request a repair, if available, repairs will be costed accordingly taking into account additional time, additional ingredients and transport costs if applicable.
Please note that it may not always be possible to rectify damage once the cake has left the premises due to the completion of other orders and general availability.
BEST BEFORE DATE / STORAGE CONDITIONS
All cakes, cupcakes and other bakes are made using fresh ingredients. Please note that due to this, they will not have the extended shelf life of most supermarket cakes, which contain additives and preservatives to ensure their prolonged life. Uncut, celebration cakes last approximately 7 days when refrigerated and cupcakes last approx. 3 days at room temperature. Please note, once cakes have been cut into the shelf life will be reduced. Keep your cakes in an airtight container to extend their shelf life. Should you have a lot of leftovers, please do cut your celebration cake using our cake cutting video guide, wrap in cling film and freeze for up to 3 months. When ready to eat, remove from freezer and allow to thaw completely at room temperature & enjoy!

Any complaints should be made in writing to [email protected] with pictures of the issue within 24 hours of your collection or delivery time. Please do not throw the cake away should you wish to make a complaint as this may need to be returned for inspection.
