FAQs

Where are your cakes made?

I am a home baker based in London with a food hygiene rating of 5 out of 5. All cakes are made from scratch and decorated individually by hand.

How tall are your cakes?

Our cakes are tall and narrow rather than flat and wide for a more elegant look. This means that you might need a slightly smaller cake than you’re used to. Most 1 tier celebration cakes are approximately 6-7 inches tall (without additional elements such as flowers or cake toppers).

Do you bake for people with dietary requirements?

Unfortunately we do not make allergen friendly bakes at this time due to cross contamination risks.

How much notice do you need?

Please place your order as soon as you can! The online booking system will allow you to book up to 4 days before your desired delivery date if there is availability. Please note that not all custom order options will be available at such short notice.

Do you deliver?

We deliver across London and most surrounding areas – please do send us a message to check whether or not your area is covered if it doesn’t come up automatically at the checkout page! All our cakes and cupcakes need to be hand delivered as they are covered in Swiss Meringue buttercream so need to be handled with care. Please note that we do deliver outside London for wedding cakes and large events – please send your enquiry via our custom enquiry form.

Where is Collection?

Collection is from Harrow, HA1. You will be required to choose a 30 minute time slot at the checkout. Please do arrive within collection time – as a home bakery, we cannot guarantee that we will be home and available if you show up late (or early!)

How should I store my cake?

Cakes are delicate items! Hold the box flat from the bottom, do not hold from the sides. Ensure the boot or foot well is clear before collection as the cake should not be placed on laps nor should it go on an empty seat.

Store the cake boxed in the fridge until ready to set up. Cake should be eaten at room temperature – we advise removing the cake from the fridge at least 90 minutes before cutting depending on the temperature of your fridge and the weather on the day.

Sculptural elements, figurines, flowers and images may contain wire supports, toothpicks, wooden skewers or other non-edible items. Please remove these items before serving to your guests, particularly small children.

Please note that all 2 tier and double barrel cakes contain dowels for stability. Occasionally 1 tier cake will also have dowels present. Please simply remove on sight when cutting.

Amendments

If you need to change the date or details of your order or cancel it altogether please contact us as soon as possible. We will always be as accommodating as we can if you need to change or postpone an order but please bear in mind that we may have had to turn away other customers to fulfil your booking for a particular date, additionally, supplies may have been purchased which are specific to your order so refunds/changes are not always possible. Additional fees may be incurred and in relation to design changes.

Should you wish to cancel your order 50% will be refunded to you if you cancel 14 calendar days before your delivery/collection date. Orders cancelled less than 14 calendar days of delivery/collection will not be entitled to a refund and credit notes are discretionary.

We will not accept liability for any complaints made after this time. Please email all complaints to [email protected]
